Tell President Biden: No Asylum Bans!
President Biden just released a new rule that would have devastating effects on access to asylum.
The president claims to share our values. He has recognized that people have a legal right to seek asylum.
But now he is doubling down on Trump policies that harm people who are just trying to reach safety. Biden’s anti-asylum policies are designed to keep people from coming to our border and asking for protection.
This new asylum ban is an asylum transit ban. What does that mean? It would deny people from even seeking asylum based on their manner of transit through other countries on the way to the U.S.
Instead of advancing Trump’s xenophobic and racist agenda, the Biden administration must protect the universal human right to seek asylum. And, access to seeking asylum - to even entering the asylum system - must be open to all who need it.
The Biden administration must defend the right to seek asylum by canceling plans for his asylum ban. This ban would expand the use of Title 42 and to issue a rule to create a new “transit ban”.

On top of that, his new “parole” plan includes a single pathway to safety, but only for people from four countries, who also have financial resources and someone to support them in the U.S. This is not asylum - and is no replacement for the human right to seek asylum, which must be open to anyone in need—no matter where they come from, how rich they are, or how they come to the U.S.
Instead of advancing Trump’s xenophobic and racist agenda, the Biden administration must protect the universal human right to seek asylum. And, access to seeking asylum - to even entering the asylum system - must be open to all who need it.
We got intel that we have a very narrow window to make a difference and potentially stop this ban. Send this pre-written message to the White House in just a few clicks.

He must also expand the parole program to all people who need it, regardless of their nationality, financial resources, or ability to find someone in the U.S. to sponsor them; and operate a humane system for reviewing and processing asylum applications.

You can still make a difference. Please share this action with others in the Jewish community who care about immigrant rights.
We need to make noise on this issue. Right now, there is a narrow window of opportunity to push back against President Biden's plans to shut down asylum.
