T’ruah supports all efforts to protect everyone’s freedom to vote, and we work in coalition to advance the Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Act.
The Freedom to Vote Act would be a bold and transformative legislative package that would create national standards to protect our freedom to vote, get big money out of politics, combat partisan election subversion, and guarantee that congressional districts are drawn to give fair representation for all.
The Freedom to Vote Act would:
- Protect our freedom to vote by enacting a number of enfranchising provisions like automatic voter registration and online voter registration, same day voter registration, and more;
- Ensure fair representation in government by strengthening protections for people of color, require states to adopt transparent and fair processes for election maps, and more;
- Reduce the influence of big money in politics by stopping illicit Super PAC coordination, combatting secret money and election interference, and more;
- Combat partisan election subversion by protecting of election records, election infrastructure, and ballot tabulation, and more.
